Bud’s Bits and Bytes

I remember when Monday meant returning to work after having the weekend off. Since working in retail the past 4 years (yep, it will be 4 years on April 15th) Monday’s are just another day. I hope to soon be in a position to have a more normal schedule. In fact, this next weekend I will be flying out to San Diego California to take a look at a franchise I may buy. The Franchisor is paying for my trip so that I can take a look at the business. He has set up 350 franchises now and I am going to take a serious look at it. I will have to do my homework, investigations, and make sure before I sign up and give up some of my savings. I do like the fact that they are not asking for any money or decisions while I am there. I will describe it in more detail after my trip if it looks like I am going to do it. I am looking forward to being in San Diego even if it is only two nights. I will stay at the Holiday Inn in Old Town which has some great shops and some wonderful Mexican restaurants. In order to have that weekend off, I am working 9 days straight. I will fly out on Friday evening March 31st and fly back on Sunday April 2nd.

Well, the 85 degree day on Monday (and I had the day off) sure felt good. Opened all the windows and aired out the townhouse. It is cooler now but the trees are starting to bloom and cherry blossom festival is not too far off. Ahhhhh, Spring - I love it. I am staying very busy but really enjoying life.

My newphew Steve Boyd out in Palm Springs just received several trophies for his work with the Palm Springs Bureau of Tourism. He is very talented and involved in so many things it is amazing. He said Gary will be visiting them tonight and they will have dinner together. Gary was there on business and gave them a call. He sure gets around.  

I was feeling really good this week. I have been more relaxed and decided not to let things at work bother me. I decided to just do the best I could with each customer. I had a great week for sales, both quantity and profitibility even though it was slow for the other sales people. It is now Saturday night and I don’t work tomorrow so I am really looking forward to spending a relaxing day with Tammy. Well, got to run for now. I have decided to try and write somenthing on my blog even if it is short at least every other day. I know I look at everyones blog each day and am always a little dissapointed when there are no updates for awhile. Oh yea, by the way, I have been asked by management to participate in a select group of employees to help the stores determine better ways to to prevent theft - both internal by employees and from shoplifting customers. I felt honored to be selected.
